Content Types

The content types view in the Manage area presents a listing of all content types defined for the customer account. The "content type category", name, state, and volume to weight ratio are shown for each content type.

It is possible to search for a particular content type by any of the above criteria by typing the information to match in the search field at the top of the view.

Add a new content type

To add a new content type, select the "+ ADD CONTENT TYPE" option in the top right corner of the content types listing view.

In the form presented, enter the name of the new content type. Content type names must be unique for the customer account.

Select the most appropriate content type category from the pull-down listing. The state of matter (solid or liquid) is derived from the selected category and cannot be changed. The default volume to weight conversion ratio is copied from the category, but may be modified as needed in the next field.

Update the volume to weight conversion ratio, if the category default is not optimal.

Optionally specify a granularity for the content type (note that this option is only available for administrative users).

If needed, an external ID can be associated with the content type.

Update the details of a content type

To edit an existing content type, open the content type form by selecting the content type from the content types listing.

The form for modifying an existing content type is the same as used for adding a new content type, except that its fields are pre-populated to reflect the current content type configuration. Modify the details of the content type as needed and click "Save".
