Users & linked Customers
Manage users for your REEN Hub account and linked Customer Accounts
Users
The users view in the Manage area presents a listing of all users defined for the customer account. The REEN system identifier, last name, first name, username, and email address is shown for each user.
It is possible to search for a particular user by any of the above criteria by typing the information to match in the search field at the top of the view.
Add a new user
To add a new user, select the "+ Add user" option in the top right corner of the users listing view.
In the form presented, enter the user details in the fields provided. The username must be unique for the REEN CMS service. If the specified username is already in use, an error will be reported.
If needed, an external ID can be associated with the user.
User privileges
Special privileges can be granted to existing user accounts. To modify the privileges of a particular user, open the user form by selecting the user from the users listing and click the "Privileges" option in the upper right corner.
Select or deselect the appropriate privileges for the user and click "Save".
Note that not all privileges may be visible or available to all users, depending on the customer account configuration and/or user type.
The following privileges may be granted to or removed from a user:
Status
By default, all users are permitted to see the Status area of the service; however, it may be desireable to prevent certain users from having access to that information. To remove this privilege, uncheck the checkbox. To restore the privilege, check the checkbox.
Service lists
By default, all users are permitted to see the Plans area of the service, which displays service list plans; however, it may be desireable to prevent certain users from having access to that information. To remove this privilege, uncheck the checkbox. To restore the privilege, check the checkbox.
Manage users
Enables the user to create and modify user accounts, including managing other users' privileges. Note however that a user, even with user management rights, may not modify their own privileges. The initial user account to be granted user management rights is assigned by REEN support when the customer account is initially configured.
Manage configuration
Enables the user to modify all aspects of the customer account configuration accessible via the Manage area of the service, with the exception of managing user accounts, which is a separate distinct privilege.
Manage installations
Enables the user to modify site configurations and sensor installations; including creating new sites, editing existing sites, adding new containers, installing sensors in containers, adding or updating site, container, and sensor photos.
Manage schedules
Enables the user to modify all aspects of scheduled operations, such as defining site visit restrictions, vehicle availability, static schedules, and other settings affecting the calculation and generation of plans.
Execute smart plans
Enables the user to execute available smart plans using the REEN Routes app. Note that granting this privilege will have no affect for customers who are not utilizing smart plans.
Update the details of a user
To edit an existing user, open the user form by selecting the user from the users listing.
The form for modifying an existing user is the same as used for adding a new user, except that its fields are pre-populated to reflect the current user configuration. Modify the details of the user as needed and click "Save".
Customer
The customer view in the Manage area presents a form for defining the customer account details.
Typically the customer configuration is initially defined by REEN support, and the customer is then free to update the configuration settings accordingly.
Note that settings which are defined for a customer account which are also defined for each user, e.g. language, timezone, units of measure, etc., will serve as default user values when creating a new user.
